Iowa head coach Joey Woody reflects on the Hawkeyes capturing the Relay Cup men's team title with 36 points at the 112th Drake Relays Presented by Xtream and Powered by Mediacom and Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. Iowa won the 1,600-meter sprint medley relay in 3:18.06, placed second in the 4x100-meter relay in 40.50, and took third in the 4x400 in 3:08.02, third in the 4x800 in 7:19.13 and third in the distance medley relay in 9:47.73. It marked the third Relay Cup men's team title for the Hawkeyes, along with 2017 and 2018. Woody also speaks about Iowa graduate Erik Sowinski achieving his 200th career sub-1:50 performance in the 800 meters, clocking 1:49.38 to place second behind Isaiah Jewett (1:48.84). More videos |
